Create Block Theme Font Permission Fix
Recently tried the reasonably new WordPress plugin Create Block Theme locally using Windows and Laragon for my local web server. This also works for Local. I thought that it could be a good way to start creating fully working WordPress Full Site Editing (FSE) Themes.
Anyway, if you are here you are probably experiencing permission errors as I did. Every time I tried to manage theme fonts by adding them from Google Fonts or Add Local I got the following error below.
“Error adding FontName font to Your theme. WordPress lack permissions to write the font assets.”
It took me some time to figure out the problem and that’s why I am sharing the solution here.
Well luckily for us, the solution is simple.
Solution Laragon
- Find Laragon in your Applications
- Right-click on the Laragon Icon and select Run as administrator.
That’s it 🙂
Solution Local
- Find Local in your Applications
- Right-click on the Local Icon and select Run as administrator.
Conclusion
Make sure that you are running Laragon or Local as Administrator. I hope that this helps.
One last thing! I make YouTube Videos and I would appreciate it if you check out my channel – Raddy. Thank you!
